I firmly believe that life is more abundant in the universe than meets the eye. Humanity has reached a point in our evolution where we are ready to join the galactic community. As far as Earth is concerned, Earth humanity is the new kids on the block. Many civilizations have come and gone over the trillions of years old our scientists theorize the universe to be. For our sun, it takes around 250 million years to traverse our path around the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. Where the Earth currently resides is where it was when dinosaurs began roaming the Earth. Even if we focus only on the Earth, many different ET species are theorized to have visited this planet. Some left, and some still remain influencing the direction of our evolution from behind the scenes.
Now, humanity has always had a history of violence with new discoveries (Columbus killed and imprisoned many natives when he landed in the Caribbean area in 1492. The European colonies enslaved many Africans during the conquest of Africa, and so on and so on throughout human history.) Is it possible that this is a trauma response for various groups to feel superior where they were once taken advantage of by "bigger and different" peoples? Maybe. Even if it were, it does not excuse the behavior. The biggest and most devastating example of this violence and tendency for destruction is the discovery of nuclear power. The first development was the A-bomb. Even before the devastation caused by the US dropping the atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th and 9th, 1945 their testing sent out a clarion call across the cosmos, and perhaps other dimensions. Civilizations far and wide became concerned with the direction humanity on Earth had taken and began sending souls to volunteer to help raise Earth's frequency from one of fear, anger, and hate to one of peace, love, and understanding. Earth Cannot join the galactic community until humanity no longer poses such a significant threat to the rest of life in the galaxy.
This is not to say that Earth is not allowed a defense mechanism, however humans must adopt a healthier way to handle confrontation and unknowns. In the majority of alien movies, the first human instinct is to kill it. It need not be so. Star Trek is a wonderful example of healthy exploration and conquest. Move to understand and hope to work with those that are different from you. Together we may find truths and means of survival that are more significant and harmonious than we could have thought.
